Tree frog sound - Voices emitted by the tree frog, Hyla arborea

The sounds emitted by the tree frog

The tree frog, scientific name Hyla arborea is an amphibian of the familyHylidae. His song is very loud, high-pitched and repeated and is heard hundreds of meters away and is emitted by the male to attract females. The sound is produced thanks to a vocal sac that males have under their throats and which functions as if it were a sounding board. During the mating period, the more males there are in the vicinity, the more frantic the singing becomes.
